Nigel Hall - Biography
Nigel Hall was educated at Calday Grange Grammar School in Wirral, in the United Kingdom. Following school, he worked briefly for National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside. During this time he contributed research for a new guide to St George's Hall, Liverpool.

Nigel studied history at Mansfield College in the University of Oxford, being awarded an Exhibition and Scholarship for his academic work and winning Mansfield College's Arts Essay Prize. After graduation, he began postgraduate research at Oxford for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Nigel took the British cotton trade as his field of research.

Nigel was appointed as Junior Dean, lecturer and Computing Officer at Mansfield College, Oxford. Following this, he was appointed as a Senior Research Associate with the Cambridge Project for the Book Trust. During this time he began work on a database of members of the London book trades in the eighteenth century. Nigel was then appointed as an Institutional Research Fellow in the History Faculty, Oxford and a research fellow at Mansfield College, Oxford. He was next appointed as a research fellow at the University of Essex in Colchester. He has been working on a comprehensive website for the Marks Hall House in Essex.
In addition to articles published in peer-reviewed academic journals, Nigel Hall has appeared on BBC Radio 4's 'Random Edition' and has appeared on BBC Televison. He has contributed pieces to the Times Literary Supplement and the Church Times.
